Juventus & Emre Can agree terms; Liverpool face two choices – reports

Emre Can, Liverpool

Speculation linking Juventus to Emre Can has refused to die down with reports now suggesting both club and player are hopeful of a deal taking place.

Just as fans must for most transfer stories this summer, though, it’s worth taking these rumours with a pinch of salt given the source and extremely tenuous report.

The Italian club and Can himself are confident of a deal having agreed terms, with Jurgen Klopp’s attempt to persuade him to sign a new contract at Liverpool likely to be ‘hardly successful’, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport– yes, they do exist.

It has also been claimed that Juventus will make an official approach and table a bid of £30-£35 million as they look to secure Can as a replacement for Sami Khedira.

Jurgen Klopp’s recent adamance that Liverpool are not a selling club should be good enough reason for fans to believe there is little chance of Can moving on this summer.

That said, the, admittedly unreliable, report from Italy does hint at the Reds facing the risk of losing Can on a free when his contract runs out next summer if they don’t decide to sell him over the next couple of months.

Liverpool appear in no rush to agree a new deal with the midfielder, perhaps serving as knowledge of his commitment to the club and desire to stay put.

Can refused to put pen to paper earlier in the year supposedly due to wage disputes and a lack of assurance over his place in the squad. That was before a drastic rise to form towards the end of the season, which calmed any tension and seemingly confirmed his future on Merseyside.

Not for one second do we believe the latest suggestions.
