LFC officials currently in meeting with Monaco RE Lemar transfer

Posted by

Liverpool have sent a delegation to France to thrash out a deal with Monaco regarding the absurdly talented Thomas Lemar, reports French outlet RMC Sport.

A medical team is already on standby at the French national team base in Clairefontaine to put the 21-year-old through a Liverpool medical, providing the two clubs can agree on a fee.

Liverpool have already lodged three bids for the attacking midfielder, the latest of which is £75m plus Divock Origi on loan. Monaco rejected our initial two, but the mammoth amount on the table will hopefully tempt them into business, with the player keen on joining Jurgen Klopp’s revolution.

The bid for Lemar is not depending on Coutinho being sold to Barcelona, despite reports to the contrary. Liverpool want to supplement the already talented squad with last season’s 14-goal wonderkid, while keeping the superstar Brazilian.

On top of this, we’ll lodge a bid for Virgil van Dijk and have already had a £30m bid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected.

Ideally, we’ll clinch all three deals for a a combined fee of about £200m, making this the most ambitious and expensive end to a transfer window from any club in the history of football.

But as it stands, we’d be happy with two of the three – providing centre-back van Dijk is one of them!
