God, we don’t really need to be hearing this after the anguish and consistently mixed information we’ve been given over the summer, do we?
But the very day after the transfer window FINALLY closed, suggestions are arising that the two targets we missed out on – Virgil van Dijk and Thomas Lemar – could sign in upcoming windows instead.
L’Equipe, translated by Ligue 1 expert Matt Spiro, claim that Monaco’s sensation doesn’t want to join Arsenal and would still be keen on eventually joining Jurgen Klopp’s revolution.
Kevin Palmer of the Independent reckons that if van Dijk continues his month-long tantrum, the Saints could cash in on January, worried his value will drop.
Lemar ‘only has eyes for Liverpool’ says L’Equipe. Paper confirms he rejected Arsenal, suggests move to Anfield could happen in near future

In all honesty though, we don’t care about either right now.
We feel sorry for van Dijk that he kicked up such a fuss and we never even submitted a bid, but he’ll get his move eventually.
For now, we need to focus on the players actually at Klopp’s disposal and the upcoming matches. In the next month, we’ve got clashes in the Premier League, League Cup and Champions League – and if we play anything like we did against Hoffenheim and Arsenal – we’ll do just fine.
Bring it on!
