Jamie Carragher has lauded Mo Salah and thinks the Egyptian can hit 25 goals in all competitions this season.

The 25-year-old is currently on 10 from just 16 starts, a truly outstanding return considering none have come from freekicks or penalties and the fact he technically plays ‘on the wing’.

(Of course, his actual position is very central as he always cuts in and looks to run in behind…)

Carra reckons the signing is as impressive as the Sadio Mane one last summer, and we agree with him on that wholeheartedly.

To think, we got the pair for a combined fee of around £70m and already, that price wouldn’t secure one of them!

“Of all the transfers last summer, none has had more impact than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah,” Carra wrote in the Telegraph, cited by the official website.

“When I saw Salah score his first for the club at Watford on the opening day, I felt this was a player who would score 15 this season. I underestimated. He is on schedule to get 25.

“The Egyptian is more than a traditional winger. He is a wide striker with the ability to get into goalscoring positions every time he plays.

“Just as with the signing of Sadio Mane in 2016, [Liverpool] have spent very well in bringing Salah back to England after his disappointing spell at Chelsea.”

When Mane and Coutinho get fit, Liverpool’s attack is as good as anyone in the country – including the phenomenal Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side look scarily impressive right now, but Liverpool are also capable of playing spellbinding football when our best players are available.

If we can beat West Ham today, our currently crocked stars have two weeks to gain full fitness before we embark on a hectic winter schedule.

This will be the defining run of our season. If Salah can continue scoring at the current rate, we’ll have a chance in any game.
