Sadio Mane is convinced Mo Salah will continue plundering goals for Liverpool.
The Egyptian’s brace against West Ham on Saturday put him on 12 for the season already, not bad in just 17 starts.
To put that into perspective, our top scorer for the whole of last term was Coutinho with 14.
Mane returned to action at the London Stadium and assisted both Salah’s efforts and has taken time to praise his new team-mate.
He told the Echo: “Mo is a fantastic signing for us. Everyone is happy to have him in the team. We are trying to help him score more goals for the team and he will do it. He is a great player.
“Honestly, I always enjoy playing with these players. We know each other well. Not just the front three but all of us. We look forward to playing more games together and playing some good games.”
Liverpool’s opening goal against West Ham showed exactly what Salah and Mane can do in tandem.
The speed of the counter-attack was breathtaking and Salah showed why he’s a much better finisher than often credited.
20-goals this season for the 25-year-old now seems the bare minimum. Considering he starts from a midfield position, this is incredible.
