Virgil van Dijk started this evening’s Merseyside Derby, and in fairness, didn’t do too much wrong during the first half.
He passed it well and won some towering headers ahead of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
In fairness, it was hardly the Franz Beckenbauer performance many Reds will have you believe, but it was half decent!

I’m literally prepared to praise anything van Dijk does. Saw him wipe sweat from his face and I’m sure he did it better than Lovren would’ve.

Van Dijk is a quality signing for Liverpool. I've always rated him and think he will really sure them up at the back.
