Jurgen Klopp keeps on telling press-conferences that Emre Can’s future is not yet decided, but Steven Gerrard may have just revealed what we basically know already.
Our former captain is a club employee, managing the U18s, but does punditry work for BT Sport during many of our matches.
And tonight, he was in the studio before the Champions League clash with FC Porto.
Stevie was asked about Emre Can, who is of course suspended for the Last 16 tie, and mentioned that the German is ‘leaving’.
The 24-year-old’s contract is up in the summer and if he was going to stay at Liverpool, he would have already renewed terms.
It’s sad to lose such a talented player for nothing, but we’ll cope. Better players than Can have left Anfield before, and better ones will arrive.
We’re sure he’ll do well at Juventus (his likely destination), but hope Naby Keita, a confirmed Anfield signing, will do even better.
Oh dear… Stevie G hasn’t just confirmed the future of Emre Can has he? pic.twitter.com/DDr5xWj7Mb
