James Pearce is probably the most reliable Liverpool correspondent there is…
But that doesn’t stop fans giving him a hard time when he delivers news that doesn’t suit everyone’s agenda!
Today, Pearce penned a piece for the Echo in which he claimed Liverpool’s interest in the superb Alisson of Roma has cooled – despite Sky Sports claiming we’re keen on a £62m deal.

Rio Ferdinand completely nails it on Virgil van Dijk…
According to his piece, Liverpool are now less certain to buy a new goalkeeper, after Loris Karius’s successful integration into the team.
Mid-January, the German took Simon Mignolet’s spot, and bar a slightly dodgy performance against Manchester City, he’s been excellent.
However, many fans are disappointed that a few good performances from Karius have led Liverpool to stop targeting the clearly excellent Roma man.
Here’s some of the reaction:
Are our standards so low that now we are calling 3 or 4 saves a resurgence!? The kid isn’t very good, sign a top keeper or continue to concede crap goals and win nothing, really is that simple.
