Liverpool’s pursuit of the best young talent in Europe is never ending.
And now we have another starlet to add to our already impressive ranks.
Belgian prodigy Jeremy Doku will complete a transfer to Liverpool on May 27th, the day he turns 16 and can legally sign terms with us.
This is being reported in reliable Belgian outlet Sport/Foot, kindly translated by our friends at Sport Witness.
Doku currently plies his trade for Anderlecht, who have a terrific reputation of developing youngsters – and is a star for Belgium’s U17 side.
Premier League superstars such as Romelu Lukaku and Vincent Kompany originally came through the ranks here, as did the highly rated Youri Tielemans, currently of AS Monaco.
We don’t know anything about Doku, but can assure him he’s making a smart choice.
He’ll get to work with Steven Gerrard for the U18s initially, before hopefully, eventually stepping up to the U23s.
At the moment, we have players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Woodburn, Harry Wilson (on loan), Dominic Solanke and Joe Gomez who have developed from youth team players to potential internationals under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance.
With our manager, if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
