If LFC draw Real Madrid, there may be an unexpected suspension to key player

We’re honestly not sure who we want in Friday’s Champions League semi-final draw…

AS Roma are the easiest side on paper, but they just overturned a 4-1 deficit to Barcelona, while Real Madrid and Bayern Munich both struggled in home legs against Juventus and Sevilla respectively.

Real lost 3-1, only avoiding Extra Time thanks to a late Cristiano Ronaldo penalty, while Bayern drew 0-0, having scraped through 2-1 in Spain.

Interestingly though, part of Real Madrid’s problem was the fact Sergio Ramos was suspended. The defence lacked height and leadership in his absence, but his manic touchline celebrations may seem him suspended again.

According to the Express, the Spanish defender broke regulations by standing pitch-side and shouting on his team in the final minutes. He also shouldn’t have entered the field of play to celebrate the Ronaldo goal, either.

Time will tell if UEFA take action, but as it’s Real Madrid, we wouldn’t be surprised if they turned a blind eye.

It’s a one in three chance we draw the side that has won the Champions League for three of the past four seasons – so if we do – we’d love Ramos to be unavailable.

But for now, we sit tight and wait for the draw!

It’s 12pm Friday, Reds.
