There was a beautiful moment at the end of yesterday’s 4-0 victory over Brighton.
Mo Salah had been presented with the FWA Player of the Year Award and the Golden Boot, after making it 32 for the Premier League campaign with his brilliant left foot.
His goal today set Liverpool on their way and Champions League Football for next season is confirmed.
After Salah had collected his individual trophies and conducted his interviews, he had a short kick-about with his daughter Makka – who was dribbling up and down the wing in front of the Main Stand.
When Mo took the ball round her, Anfield booed – only cheering when she got it back – which we imagine will be the only time the Egyptian King is ever jeered on our hallowed turf!
It was great to see Salah looking so happy, actually. Against AS Roma and Chelsea in our past two fixtures, he’s been slightly off the boil, but today, looked fully fit and raring to go – just in time for the Champions League Final with Real Madrid in 13 days’ time.
I think you’ll love this video from the Anfield gantry. Mo Salah’s daughter stole the show. That moment when she realises that the entire crowd are cheering her! Then Daddy gets booed whilst holding his Golden Boot. Brilliant. 😂👏 #MoSalah #LFC pic.twitter.com/QhUkRqYhL5
