It seems like a long time ago that Michael Owen was an absolutely world class striker for Liverpool.
Since then he’s ditched us for a season-long stay at Real Madrid, then did precious little at Newcastle for a little while, broke our hearts by joining Manchester United, and embarked upon a pretty dire punditry career.

For some reason, this has also earned him a role as a club ambassador at Liverpool. The less said about that, the better.
Known for his weird tweets, including X-rated pictures of his dogs, revealing he’s only watched eight films in his life, Owen might have outdone himself this time.
Remarkably, in an interview with Joe, the former England international has let slip that he’s never had a cup of tea or coffee in his life.
“I’ve never drunk a cup of tea in my life, or coffee for that matter,” he said. “But I have just learnt how to make one.”
We’re quite forgiving here at Empire of the Kop, but this might just be the final straw from Owen as far as we’re concerned.
