We love Sadio Mane! He’s a genuinely nice person and a phenomenal footballer, too.
This term he’s scored three goals already, and although he was quiet against Brighton last time out, we’ve every confidence that this season will be his best in red.
Mane has a great friendship with Mo Salah, his fellow forward who also has lightning heels and a penchant for finding the back of the net.
As a result, the media has painted an internal rivalry between the pair, but in reality, it’s completely above board and they both want the best for each other and the team!
Mane though has claimed unequivocally that he’s speedier than his colleague…
“Yes, of course I’m faster!” he told Marca. “Maybe not in short distances, but in 100 or 200 metres I win for sure!”
We actually think the final goal tally between Mane and Salah will be closer than it was last term, with both potentially reaching 30, instead of the absurd 44 Mo got in 2017/18.
Mane continued his revealing interview by making some big claims about Liverpool’s ambitions this season:
“It is a great challenge, and it is true that we have won trophies, but not the league…
“We’ll try to fix it this year.
“That’s why we have signed great players and it’s a great challenge to attempt the assault on the Premier League.”
When asked if he’d prefer the Champions League or Premier League, Mane couldn’t decide!
“Both, a big club like Liverpool should go for the two competitions,” he said.
