Tite: What Firmino does better than Gabriel Jesus

Posted by

Brazil boss Tite was heavily criticised throughout the World Cup for not selecting Roberto Firmino ahead of Gabriel Jesus.

The Manchester City forward had a quiet season in 2017/18, and was poor in Russia, while Firmino scored 27 goals in all competitions and looked incredible from the bench during the summer competition.

But Firmino didn’t start any of the games, despite scoring and assisting when he came on at different stages.

However, Tite has left Jesus out of his squad to face USA and El Salvador, allowing all of City’s Brazilians, including Ederson, Danilo and Fernandinho, a break – annoyingly.

Firmino is playing though and the experienced manager has explained what he offers the side.

It’ll be a race against time for Firmino to be ready for our match with Spurs on September 15th, considering it’s an early kick-off, away from home and Brazil face El Salvador on the 12th!

Alisson and Fabinho are also in the squad, so Jurgen Klopp will no doubt have some headaches about this international break.

We just hope everyone comes back without an injury, as time and time again this has cost us over the years.
