The ONLY striker who’s ever started the Champions League better than Roberto Firmino is former Lazio and Italy forward Simone Inzaghi!
By bagging the winner against PSG on Tuesday night, Firmino has scored 11 goals in his first 14 appearances in the competition, having never played in it before for Hoffenheim.
Inzaghi’s 12 goals for Lazio, nine of which came in 1999/00 and three came in the first three games of the next season, mean he notched one more in his first 14.
However, Firmino also has registered seven assists in his 14 matches, while Inzaghi didn’t register one!
Bobby’s been incredible in Europe, which helped him reach 27 goals in all competitions last term.
This season, he’s on three already, having crucially scored winners in our past three matches.
We reckon he’ll come back into the side for the clash with Southampton tomorrow, but will be rested midweek for the EFL Cup clash with Chelsea, allowing Daniel Sturridge back into the starting XI.
