Manchester City comfortably dispatched Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium to head back on top of the Premier League table, and Liverpool fans were quick to express their disappointment.
It’s not too often that we want United to win – but it would admittedly have been quite useful today. Instead, City ran out 3-1 winners.
These tweets from supporters at the final whistle summed up the situation.
As a Liverpool fan, I am very dissapointed with Manchester United

Still a very good gameweek for Liverpool. We win, whilst Chelsea, United and Arsenal all drop points 👍🏻

United fans gna come out with their excuses and say they lost this on purpose to prevent Liverpool from being top of table😂

As Liverpool fan I’ve learnt to never rely on Utd to do you a favour 👀

The Reds just have to focus on their own game and keep winning matches – but it would have been nice to see City slip up.
As long as we keep winning football matches, that’s all that matters.
