Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed that he wants to play for Liverpool for his entire career – just like his hero Jamie Carragher.
Asked by Sky Sports if he would like to match what Carragher achieved, he replied: “Definitely.
“To play for Liverpool is the dream, the aim, and I can’t see it changing. As long as possible I want to have that relationship with Liverpool, to be a Liverpool player.
“To say I have done that for the whole of my career is something I have dreamed of being able to say.”
Trent has been exceptional since coming into the team at the start of last season – if he continues his upward trajectory, there is no reason he can’t better Carragher’s 737 Reds appearances.
The only real question is whether his long-term future is at full-back, or whether he will move back into midfield where he played most of his academy football.
