The incredible feat Firmino and Salah could reach against Napoli

According to LiverpoolFC.com, both Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah are just one goal away from becoming the Reds’ joint-second top goalscorers of all time in the European Cup or Champions League.

After Steven Gerrard on 30 goals in Europe’s elite competition, Ian Rush is next highest on 14 goals. Both Firmino and Salah have 13 goals in their 20 Champions League games to date.

Both have already bypassed Kenny Dalglish, who scored 10 goals in the European Cup for the Reds, and Terry McDermott, who notched 12.

Sadio Mane is not far behind his compatriots having scored 11, so a hat-trick from him would also place him behind only Gerrard.

It just shows how many goals the Reds scored last season in the Champions League, with Salah, Firmino and Mane generally at the forefront – a similar contribution tonight against Napoli might well be necessary for the Reds to progress to the next round.
