Jurgen Klopp made a prediction to NBC Sports over in America that if Liverpool win the Premier League, it will reverberate around the world.
We’re currently one point behind the superb Manchester City, but with eight games to go, there’s plenty of chances for both teams to make a mistake.
Klopp also decided to speak on Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip during the 2013/14 campaign – and the hypocrisy of opposition fans still singing about it…
“Liverpool will cause an earthquake if we win it,” he said. “5 years ago it was unlucky. Other fans sing about Stevie’s slip but no one talks about United losing to Aguero. Look at the lead they had with 10 to go.”
Gerrard was actually phenomenal in 2013/14 and we wouldn’t have even been competing for the title without him – but obviously that’s gone completely forgotten by rivals.
And we can also understand the fact United throwing away the title in 2012 isn’t mentioned as much because they’ve won the Premier League on 13 occasions.
But it’s time for Liverpool to start writing history again. Our current team, manager and everything in between, is brilliant. This squad is capable of greatness.
As fans, we just have to will them on to make it happen.
