Football giants could shockingly usurp Lazio’s Alberto Moreno deal

Alberto Moreno on a Bosman free transfer is a very attractive deal for multiple clubs in Europe, it seems.

It looked like a move to Lazio was all but sewn up, after the Spaniard travelled to Rome to discuss terms last week – but multiple teams are now in the reckoning!

Spanish publication Sport state Barcelona could soon confirm Moreno on a two-year deal, as they look to strengthen the options behind Jordi Alba at left-back.

Moreno is a very good attacker, but has basically zero defensive nous, which is ultimately why he’s failed in England.

That being said, he could do well at a club like Barca, who in La Liga, are nearly always on the front foot.

In his homeland, his inability to deal with set-pieces will be less of an issue, so the potential move isn’t as strange as it perhaps seems at first.

We’d encourage Moreno to switch to Lazio, though. He’s basically spent two years on the bench at Liverpool behind Andy Robertson – and he’s not going to be able to oust Alba – either.

At 26-years-old, he needs first-team football.
