Liverpool have been taking an active interest in young French defender Ibrahima Konate.
This is according to EuroUnited6 – an admittedly ropey source which fills us with little confidence – although this hasn’t stopped it being republished by many English outlets such as the Star.

Konate is 19-years-old and made 28 Bundesliga appearances in 2018/19, so we’d be surprised if he wasn’t at least on our radar.
The centre-back is tall, rangy and likes to dribble. In many ways, he reminds us a little of Joel Matip, although he is a little less refined than our Cameroonian!
We can only see Konate being a realistic target if Dejan Lovren departs this summer.
If we cash in on the Croatian, who probably won’t want to be fourth-choice next season, we’ll need a replacement – but Konate may similarly not be excited by a backup role.
At EOTK, we’d happily keep hold of Lovren as think he’s decent alongside Virgil van Dijk and plays a big role in squad harmony – although accept not many of our readers agree!
