Liverpool have announced their Premier League retained list with one surprise inclusion in Bobby Adekanye.
The forward had previously announced that he was set to leave the club, and Serie A club Lazio looked like a likely destination.

This announcement has thrown doubt on Adekanye’s future as it’s now unclear what will happen. In the statement published on the club’s official website, Liverpool confirm they’ve offered the forward a new contract.
It’s uncertain if this is the same contract that the Nigerian has previously turned down or if it’s another, improved offer. If it’s an accident, I’m sure Bobby’s representatives will be frantically contacting the club as I type this.
Also included on the list of players to be offered a new contract are Daniel Atherton, George Johnston, Abdi Sharif and Edvard Tagseth.
Academy players Juanma, Conor Masterson, Glen McAuley, Corey Whelan and Ben Williams are also set to leave the club. It’s a shame it hasn’t worked out for these lads at Liverpool, but I’m sure they’ll kick on elsewhere at a high level.
The statement also confirms the departure of Daniel Sturridge, Alberto Moreno, Adam Bogdan and Academy graduate Connor Randall.
