It looks like Matthijs de Ligt could make the rather boring decision to follow the money and sign for PSG.
This is according to Sky Sports honcho Kaveh Solhekol, who tweeted the news late last night.
According to the reporter, who is actually referencing his company’s sister outlet Sky Sports Italy, the young Dutchman’s agent is due in Paris to talk to the French giants about a transfer.
Sky Italy: PSG now favourites to sign Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt. Agent Mino Raiola due in Paris for talks. Barcelona other option. Will be deal of the summer (with Hazard to Real Madrid)

De Ligt has been linked to countless European giants – ourselves included – but we never saw it as a realistic deal.
Firstly, Liverpool do not deal with Raiola, someone whose sole ambition is to play clubs off against each other to maximise his clients’ wage-packets.
Secondly, we just won the Champions League with a phenomenal central defensive duo of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip – with the superb Joe Gomez set to fight for a starting spot ahead of the new season.
For the money it’ll cost PSG, or anybody else, to sign de Ligt – it just doesn’t make sense for Liverpool right now.
And we’re ok with that. A more pressing concern for us is securing new backup fullbacks to support Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson – as well as bringing in a versatile wing-forward to rotate with our fabled front-three.
