Barcelona have finally received an offer for Philippe Coutinho

Spanish outlet Sport are reporting that Barcelona have finally received an offer for Philippe Coutinho this summer – though the club to have put a sum of money on the table is unnamed.

It is claimed that the Catalan side would be willing to send Coutinho out on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. There is no mention of the price-tag in order to do this, though they do say that Barcelona would want to recoup as much of the £142 million they paid for him 18 months ago.

How likely that is, no one is sure. Given no side, up to this point, had even put an offer on the table for Coutinho, that perhaps that would be very difficult to achieve.

Interestingly, the report claims that PSG are not in for Coutinho, with the Premier League his most likely destination. If he is true to his word about not joining a rival of the Reds, not many options remain.

With Chelsea under a transfer ban, there are not many places he could go if England is to be his next destination. With the English transfer window closing in less than a week, time is running out fast.

It would be great to see him back on Merseyside, though that does seem highly unlikely.
