Footballers, on the whole, take themselves far too seriously – especially on social media – where they’re either far too posy or just plain PR boring.
Today, the former Manchester City defender, who is on loan at Valencia having made just nine appearances for the Sky Blues since 2016, uploaded a joke to his Instagram – which claimed he’s better than world’s greatest centre-back Virgil van Dijk – because he’s been dribbled past less times in the past two seasons!
(We think Mangala very much knows this is because he hasn’t played any football, by the way!)
Van Dijk lost his ‘not dribbled past’ record at the weekend, after Nicolas Pepe nipped past him on the touchline – which is weirdly a big deal for some unknown reason!
