The Senegalese, who scored a brace against Newcastle United on Saturday lunchtime, has been incredible since he arrived from Southampton and has proven to be a £34 million bargain.
Only Sergio Aguero has scored more goals in the Premier League in 2019, and were it not for Virgil van Dijk, Mane would be in the conversation for the Ballon d’Or after an exceptional few months.
There is no indication that Mane is unhappy with his current deal, but it would be good to see the club proactively reward him with improved terms in recognition of his excellent form.
It must be noted, however, that similar reports surfaced over the last week or so regarding a new deal for Van Dijk, which proved to be untrue.
