Liverpool predicted XI v. Genk – Klopp has a decision to make for Reds’ defence

Liverpool travel to Belgium this week as the Reds face off against Genk in the search for another three points in our Champions League campaign.

I’ve tried to predict our starting XI in the past – and I’ve not always got it right, so take my suggestions here with a pinch of salt.

I’d expect Alisson to return to the starting XI, of course. With the recent injury news of Joel Matip, I’m tipping Dejan Lovren to partner Virgil van Dijk in the heart of our defence.

I’d say there’s also a decent chance Joe Gomez could also feature, but it seems he’s lost the boss’ confidence this season. I’m sure he’s capable of bouncing back though!

Then I think Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold will make up the back line, with the full backs putting in an incredible shift against Villa.

In midfield, surely Fabinho will return to the fold, after sitting out of the game over the weekend, and I’d like to see him joined by Gini Wijnaldum, as you’d be wise to expect, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

It’s quite likely Klopp will opt to play Jordan Henderson, but I think a chance in Europe would be an opportunity the on-form Ox would revel in!

That being said, Naby Keita’s injury isn’t as bad as it first seemed, and he managed to make the bench at Villa. Maybe this could be a game for the Guinean.

Up top, we’ll have Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Bobby Firmino – I don’t expect any surprises there, as the lads haven’t sustained any injuries.
