Jurgen Klopp rules out January move for Dejan Lovren – report

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is said to be happy that he stayed at Anfield over the summer, but isn’t sure what will happen in the future.

The Croatian international was subject of interest from Serie A giants AS Roma and AC Milan, but the Reds valuation of the centre half was too high for the Italians.

Lovren then stayed at Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s fourth choice centre back, and he may now be third choice, but he’s put in some decent performances.

That being said, Dejan isn’t one of the first names on the team sheet and a man who believes he’s one of the best defenders in the world won’t stand sitting on the bench.

But now, according to Football Insider, Klopp will block any moves made for Lovren this January, with the boss only considering deals next summer.

With recent injuries to Joel Matip, and an under-performing Joe Gomez, our No.6 has found himself being used a lot more frequently than he’d have expected.

If he continues to be selected, I think Lovren will be happy enough for now.
