For the second time in two Brazil matches, Tite brought Coutinho on for Willian after the hour mark and watched our magician completely transform the game.
Against Ecuador, it was 0-0 when Coutinho was introduced. Thirty minutes later, El Selecao had bagged three and wrapped up a crucial away win.
Last night, local fans were perplexed Coutinho didn’t start, but when he came on, he changed the game once again – in just 24 minutes. Brazil were struggling, drawing 1-1 in a must-win fixture with Colombia, but Phil came on and assisted Neymar’s winner, and should have had a couple of goals himself.
He’s simply brilliant when he fancies it. We just hope he gets enough rest before our clash with Leicester at the weekend. We need him at his best.
