When will James Milner start getting the credit he deserves? The Liverpool man has made a remarkable piece of history this evening.
According to stats from BT Sport, the Reds ace has just notched up his 9th assist of the season in the Champions League – more than any player has ever managed in a single season in the competition.
Tonight’s game may not have ended in ideal style after we went 5-0 up, with Roma grabbing two in the final ten minutes to set up a far more tense second leg than was needed.

Still, Milner’s contribution has been superb and it’s surreal to think his assist stats are now above anything ever achieved by greats such as Xavi and Andres Iniesta at this level.
Now to just sort ourselves out at the back and we should have enough quality to make sure things don’t go pear-shaped in the second leg at the Stadio Olimpico next week.
