Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic money could eventually end up in Liverpool’s hands

Frankfurt, who are armed with a big transfer budget after selling Luka Jovic to Real Madrid, are keen on spending a large chunk of it on Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic.

This is according to Neil Jones in Goal, who suggests Liverpool want more than £25m for the Serbian who shone at Hertha last term in the Bundesliga.

He also says that two other German clubs are interested in the 23-year-old, while stating that Atletico Madrid are also keen – should they sell Rodri to either Manchester City or Bayern Munich.

Grujic was tremendous for Hertha, but his chances of regular first-team football for Liverpool are probably slim.

We already have Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Adam Lallana to compete for three positions next term – and that’s assuming we don’t buy anybody else.

For this reason, we think cashing in on Grujic is probably sensible – although do recognise he’s a real talent and it’s a risky move.

Whatever Jurgen Klopp decides is best, we’ll support!
