David Villa has already stated that if he had to leave Spain he would join Liverpool, and Xabi, as hard as it is to admit, will be leaving. I had read a report saying that Rafa would lure in David Silva with the money he gets, but isn’t David Villa more important? Liverpool already have 3 excellent wingers in Albert Riera and Dirk Kuyt, and Yossi Benayoun. David Villa would add this depth in the squad that we have been missing ever since King Kenny hung up his boots, and although Silva is as equally as talented, modern day football now requires a lethal finisher rather than a type of player we already have (he just needs to be played more often) in Ryan Babel. David Villa would just be a dream come true for the Anfield Faithful.

A dream? Good god, if we had Villa, Liverpool would be the most feared strike force in the world.
He’s a bit too old (28 this year), and will cost a lot more than we’ll get for Alonso.
It would be fun to watch for a year or two though…
Yeah but.. Villa is good but Alonso was our most influencial player last season (my oppinion) we should be getting villa as well not instead of…. if Alonso goes we aint got a chance.. .. . and i say we’re gonna win it every year..lol

No he can’t but it seems Xabi is leaving so we need to spend the money somewhere.
IF we lose Xabi, we are losing (in my opinion) one of the best playmakers and distributor of the ball in the team! Having Villa would be great, but it probably means pushing Stevie back, which I don’t want to see! Silva would be awesome too, but again, he’s an attacker, which we have plenty of! IF Xabi goes, we need to replace him with another playmaker! Any suggestions?
David Villa would be just what we need. And then get lee Cattermole. but with villa, He’s a left forward, and when Torres fails to score U know Villa will. cos Look at man city if one striker gets injured. They’ll be another world class one to take over. so with Villa, we won’t panic about Torres’ Hamstring. I hope Rafa goes all out for Villa
but besides Villa.. In the centre of the Park, There’s Inler, Sneijder(spelling), D’Agustino, AQUILANI, PIRLO, heck even Beckham.. All available.. At a price
Villa is a good player but if you’ve watched the Spanish national team enough you’ll quickly realise that, as a strike partnership, Villa/Torres is definitely not the best going around. The Spanish team is fantastic, with a lot of creativity and attacking impetus from the midfield that helps balance things.
They are two players who want to fill exactly the same role. Stevie/Torres work well because Stevie isn’t an out and out striker, so he is happy to play a support role and sit slightly deeper. Villa won’t offer that because when he gets the ball, 9/10 it’s going to end with him having a shot. Considering that he’s going to want a regular starting place, our system would need to undergo a change.
Liverpool need another attacking midfielder who can be a genuine goal threat while also having the creativity to pull a few strings.
Villa is not the guy that we´re a looking. 28 years old and Valencia wants 45M from him?
I’ve been harping on about us signing Villa since Torres joined us. He’s my dream signing this summer, just as Torres was when he signed for us… OMG I’m drooling at the prospect.
