The latest news on Alonso is that he joined up the Liverpool squad in Vienna and will stay on for at least 1 more year. Don’t know whether these news is true…but it seems promising so far for us!

“Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has rubber-stamped the imminent transfer of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid on the proviso he receives ALL the money up front.
The Spain midfielder should complete his £32million switch in the next 48 hours and Benitez wants David Silva, 23, to replace him. Crisis-hit Valencia want nothing less than a straight cash deal for Silva, rated at around £20m. Barcelona are no longer interested.
