The Reds played the Thai national team who wore blue and the Chang sponsor on their shirts. With Peter Reid as their manager this almost looked like a Merseyside Derby :-)
The Reds came out pretty strong and Ryan Babel scored after just 6 minutes thanks to a Jaime Carragher through ball.
Unfortunately for the Reds Sutee Suksomkit equalised in the 72nd minute for the Thais.
Martin Skrtel had to come off right after half time with a hamstring injury, Nabil El Zhar was also substituted with a knee injury.
The grass did made it a little difficult for the players, they lost the ball in many occasions and the Reds also lost their pace in the 2nd half as the heat and later the heavy rain had it’s toll. Torres came on for the last 10 minutes and created a few sparks however the game ended at 1-1.
The Reds now fly to Singapore and play the National team there on Sunday.
