Liverpool Finish Deal For Alberto Aquilani

Posted by

Various media outlets are reporting Liverpool Football Club have come to an agreement with both Italian side Roma and Alberto Aquilani to bring the player to Anfield for a fee of £15.3million.

The Spanish sports paper Marca first published supposed confirmation of the deal which would bring in a direct replacement for Madrid-bound Xabi Alonso. Later on in the day the story was broke on Liverpool radio station City Talk, with sources claiming the Merseyside club will unveil the player to the public in the near future.

If the stories are true and then the 25 year-olds move to Liverpool will almost certainly confirm the departure of want-away Spaniard Xabi Alonso, who’s potential move to Real Madrid has been dominating the back pages for weeks with rumours of new prices and deals being made.

  1. He hasn’t joined yet, but it is very likely because it is relying on Alonso moving to Madrid which is even more likely itself.

  2. I hope this is true because he is built in basically built in the same make as xabi, not as gud at shooting but he is very skilful, only bad thing is that he gets injured a lot

  3. Not the best signing he gets injured to much, bring in Villa to partner Torres and drop Gerrard in the centre midfield with Masch.

  4. To be fair I wanted Alonso to stay just like everyone else but now I just want this over and done with. HURRY UP AND MOVE IF YOUR MOVING.

I just hope this does not drag on untill the very end of the transfer window. If we are getting a new player I hope it’s soon so he can settle in with some pre-season games.

  5. i think it’d be cool if we kept both. :)
Aqulilani, Masch, Lucas, AND Aquliani would be.. awesome disgusting.

  6. It will be a sad day if Alonso moves to Real Madrid. With only one decent signing – and that not much of an improvment on Arbeloa – Liverpool will find it really hard to win the championship and will probably struggle to finish in the top four.
I just hope I am wrong but it does not look good at the moment.

  7. Give up on Silva and Villa people….not gonna happen, Valencia and the coach have said they aint going nowhere!!!

  8. YNWA I trust Rafa now as I did when he bought Alonso, This is the man LFC want to make sure stays for many years to come, bye bye Alonso, just go!!! we need Villa/Silva and yes drop Gerard into midfield where he will control the whole game easier, until Spearing is ready to take that over, he will be a class player, we have some good youngsters comming through, and I like the look of Ngog, but needs to fatten up a bit, But Aquilani gets injured too much!!
