Liverpool vs Sparta Prague (Thursday)

Posted by

Following a whole week of rest we host Sparta Prague in the second leg of the Europa League’s round of the 32. The first leg of the fixture ended in a 0-0 stalemate in Prague so the winner tomorrow will qualify for the round of 16.

Luis Suarez can not feature because he is cup-tied while Andy Carroll is still injured. Steven Gerrard will most likely sit out as he hasn’t totally recovered from the injury he received at the hands of Chelsea. Daniel Agger is looking likely to return after missing the last two games.

Predicted Starting XI:
Pepe Reina, Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Jamie Carragher, Glen Johnson, Martin Kelly, Lucas Leiva, Raul Meireles, Maxi Rodriguez, Dirk Kuyt, David Ngog

Kick off is at 6PM GMT

  1. No Ngog should start on the Bench. He’s been sluckish’lately. If Gerrard cant start, I prefer Wilson starting at right back and Johnson coming to the right wing.Him and Kelly can terrorise that side of the wing providing numerous crosses to Kuyt and Meireles who will be all over the opponents 18 yard area. With three Center backs, we are secure in the back. Cole should also not start. He has alot to prove but not in such an important match. Gerrard can come in when things look bad (but i doubt it will be bad tonite) and replace whoever isnt perfoming. I think Pacheco should be given a chance tonite depending on how the game will proceed. This is our match for the taking. Come on REDS!!!!
