Adam Lallana has two broken ribs, but will play through the pain barrier versus Man United

Englishman still available for Red Devils clash…

Adam Lallana broke two of his ribs during the Premier League victory over Leicester City, which was why he was left on the bench for the Champions League draw against FC Basel, reports the Mirror.

Lallana did play in the stalemate against Sunderland which immediately followed the Tigers win, but the severity of the injury was then realised, and the 26-year-old was hauled off after the hour mark – and didn’t come on at all against the Swiss midweek…

However, he’s declared himself available for this weekend’s massive fixture against Manchester United, and most fans would like to see him selected to start by Brendan Rodgers.

Lallana offers creativity, intricate passing and jinking runs; which gives us another attacking option to the pace of Raheem Sterling on the opposite flank.

Rodgers may of course choose to set the team out more defensively, meaning Lallana might be used as an impact bench player instead.
