Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has yet again been linked with a January exit from Liverpool…

Despite earning back his place in the team and impressing in the holding midfield role, the national press are continuing to link Lucas Leiva with a move away from Liverpool.

This time the Daily Star is the guilty party, with the suggestion being a loan switch to Inter Milan. According to the source, the Brazilian is now in negotiations with the Italian giants.

The 27-year-old has certainly been in and out of favour at Anfield, but he remained loyal during the summer window, despite interest from Napoli.

The Star quote Italian source Tuttosport, who claim that former Man City boss Roberto Mancini is looking to strengthen his squad in January and has made Lucas his top target.

They add that Lucas has played just six league games for the Reds this season and would be open to a move in search for more regular football.

Mancini, whose Inter side are currently 11th in Serie A, has also been linked with a move for Lucas’s Liverpool team-mate Mario Balotelli, although those rumours have since been denied.
