Robbie Fowler picks ‘Ultimate Legends team’ with just one former Liverpool star… himself

This doesn’t seem quite right! Robbie snubs his former Liverpool and England teammates…

Robbie Fowler has revealed his ‘Ultimate Legends team’ as part of a promotional video from EA Sports, who yesterday celebrated the striker’s 40th birthday with this FIFA 15 tribute.

The video has been picked up by the Daily Mirror and shows the iconic forward selecting his favourite players from down the generations. However, in a surprise snub, he’s forgotten to include any Liverpool or England players… except of course himself!

Don’t worry Robbie, we still love you anyway! Here’s the XI in full…

GK) Peter Schmeichel

Best known for his eight year stay with Manchester United, which saw him win multiple honours including five Premier League titles and the Champions League. As far as ex-United players go he’s one of the more bearable.

CB) Paolo Maldini

Arguably the greatest player AC Milan ever produced. The veteran of over 900 first-team games and the winner of seven Italian league titles, as well as five Champions Leagues. Scored against the Reds in the 2005 final.

CB) Fernando Hierro

Played over 600 games for Real Madrid before finish his career with Bolton. A goal-scoring defender, he also netted close to 200 goals for club and country during his playing days, which came to an end in 2005.

CB) Fabio Cannavaro

The man who led Italy to the World Cup in 2006. The formidable defender also enjoyed a stellar playing career, starring for the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid. A former Ballon d’Or winner.
