Thankfully, Steven Gerrard put that straight, bagging a late winner to reignite our top four hopes.
Whatever you feel about our season, this is surely the wrong way to deal with the current discontent. You cannot deny that the Northern Irishman has taken us closer than anyone in the last 25 years to clinching the title, and while our trophy cabinet will not be seeing any new additions this campaign, there remains a feeling that we are heading in the right direction under his stewardship.
But like many great managers in the past, Rodgers needs time and trust to implement the changes required to turn us into the force that on many occasions this season, we have threatened to be.
Perhaps unsurprisingly therefore, the majority of our fans have distanced themselves completely from supporting this banner, and have criticised the ‘fans’ behind the stunt.
To those involved in ‘Rodgers out Rafa in’ banner I have one word to say to you… Aquilani

Cannot believe the banner flying over Anfield. Short-sighted & moronic. Rodgers is doing a good job & Rafa is NOT the answer #bbcfootball — Nick Hughes (@Hughes25N) May 2, 2015
