Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been left fuming, after discovering that Chelsea’s players have done an extremely limited amount of preparation for this weekend’s game with Liverpool – reports the Daily Mirror.

In contrast, we will selfishly take heart from the fact that our chances of a victory at Stamford Bridge on Sunday have received a major boost, with the Blues still focused on their Premier League title celebrations.

Jose Mourinho’s side wrapped up victory with success against Crystal Palace last weekend, completing a domestic double and leaving them with next to nothing to play for in their remaining games – with their European hopes having been ended back in March.

We will go into the game knowing that nothing other than a win will do, with a four point gaps still separating us from fourth place with just three games remaining. Only maximum points from our last three fixtures will give us a chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, and even that may still not be enough.

United face Palace themselves this weekend, before finishing their campaign with games against Arsenal and Hull City, who could well need a result to avoid relegation.

Liverpool finish the season by hosting Palace and travelling to Stoke City.
