Brendan Rodgers is staying at Liverpool, after meeting with Tom Werner

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers met with two of his bosses Tom Werner and Mike Gordon of FSG today to discuss the at times shambolic season just gone, the Echo reports, but the Northern Irishman is not losing his job.

According to the report, the talks went positively – and both parties ‘want to move forward together’.

The Echo reckon that Werner’s arrival will also see the American businessman tie up our proposed move for James Milner. The Englishman is out of contract at Manchester City, and is expected to sign a £150k-per-week contract at Anfield in the coming weeks – with the transfer going through July 1st.

Elsewhere on transfers – the Echo claim that Danny Ings, Nathaniel Clyne and Christian Benteke are key targets – which in truth – doesn’t fill us with enormous excitement…

But it’s a reflection on our club and the loyalty that we show to managers that Rodgers is being given another chance.

It’s now time for us to get behind him.
