Liverpool fans, if you’ve never heard this Kolo Toure story, take three minutes out of your day to give it a listen.
It’s told by Ray Parlour, the former Arsenal winger, explaining the day Kolo Toure had his trial at Arsenal.
At the time, the 21-year-old had only ever played for Ivorian minnows ASEC Mimosas, but following a short trial, Arsenal spent £150k to bring him to Highbury. He went on to play a crucial part in their Invincibles season before moving to Manchester City and then Liverpool – but it could have been very different had Arsene Wenger reacted a little differently to Kolo’s behaviour on his first day!
