Robbie Fowler has been speaking about England’s chances in the upcoming European Championships in France.
The Kop favourite – who bagged seven goals in 26 games during a six-year career for The Three Lions – thinks fans shouldn’t get theirs hope up too much.
He does, however, think England will easily get through their group.
“England are nailed on to get out of the group, in fact it’s one of the best bets in the tournament,” he said.
“They have a relatively easy passage to the quarter-finals, and I’m hoping they get further but, like most Euros, we will ultimately fall at the last eight. I hope I’m wrong, but I can see that happening.” (via Echo)
Fowler then moved on to reminisce about his time at Liverpool, revealing who his two favourite teammates were.
“I have to give a mention to Ian Rush and John Barnes, they were phenomenal players,” he said.
“But Steven Gerrard was an unbelievable player and is up there with Steve McManaman as the two best players I have played with.”
He concluded with one last bold claim – Liverpool will win the 2017 title. Obviously.
