Liverpool legend Peter Beardsley has claimed Adam Lallana is England’s best player at this summer’s EUROs in France.

The comments put him at odds with ex-United player Dwight Yorke, who earlier claimed England were “carrying” the Reds’ midfielder.

“Lallana would be the one for me who has been outstanding,” he said (via Metro).

“He is similar to the way I played with how he moves the ball and creates goals.

“I really like his energy and enthusiasm in getting the ball back.

“Dier has done well but overall Lallana has been our best player and I see a lot of myself in him.”

Lallana is the only one of our players who has played in all three England matches so far. He played 90 minutes against Russia then 70+ against Wales and Slovakia.
