Bild lazily link Liverpool to an old Klopp favourite who shone at Euro 2016

We’re sure they’ve published this story on a few occasions since Jurgen Klopp took over the Anfield helm…

Bild have again today claimed that our manager wants to bring his former Borussia Dortmund stalwart Jakub Blaszczykowski to Liverpool, with the 30-year-old Pole available for a bargain €5m.

Kuba, as he’s thankfully become known, lit up this summer’s Euros with Poland, scoring twice and assisting the rest of the goals his country bagged throughout the tournament!

He’s very hard-working, dynamic and makes up what he lacks in vision and technical ability in sheer heart – a la Dirk Kuyt when he used to plough Liverpool’s right wing.

Bild provide very little detail about our supposed interest, which makes us skeptical as to the legitimacy of their story, especially considering the trusted Liverpool sources have reported nothing of the sort at any point since Klopp’s arrival.

In fact, we’ve not gone to Dortmund for new signings yet, which comes as a surprise to those who assumed Klopp would be happy to raid his former hunting ground for his tried and trusted favourites. While Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all left, none have moved to Merseyside, meaning that of the marquee stars, only Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remain.
