OK, so it wasn’t a Champions League final (this time) but Liverpool fans should be very pleased with how their side totally outclassed AC Milan just now.
Jurgen Klopp’s men signed off from their US tour with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over the Serie A side courtesy of second-half goals from Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino.
Origi – a half-time replacement for Daniel Sturridge, who did OK in his first 45 minutes of preseason – opened the scoring on the hour mark with a fine curling finish, after putting former Liverpool defender Gabriel Paletta on his backside with some superb skill.

Origi had the ball in the net again soon after, but another fine finish was not rewarded due to an incorrect offside call.
Liverpool’s day was not to be ruined by the officials though. Firmino made sure of that with a sliding effort at the far post, following an excellent run and cross by Sheyi Ojo.
As the stats – from ESPN – below perfectly illustrate, Liverpool were thoroughly dominant.
