What really made him a fans’ favourite though was his unbelievable attitude and work-rate, the like of which has rarely been seen in the Premier League era.
Kuyt loved the club back, as displayed by this message he’s posted for Liverpool fans. He references being called a ‘Scouse Bastard’ by Manchester United supporters during the Europa League fixtures between Jose Mourinho’s men and his current club Feyenoord, but claims he took this as a compliment.
