Another classic quote as Klopp describes what he would do if he was Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho has been outstanding in 2016 and has taken his game to a different level under Jurgen Klopp.

The Brazilian has been an absolute joy to watch and has been the subject of yet another brilliant Klopp quote.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce about Coutinho, the German said: “Of course with Phil’s skills, everyone wants to give him the ball and wait for something special to happen. Then you think ‘oh no, don’t shoot again’. But if I could shoot like he could shoot then I would try it all the time.”

“I’d get up in the morning and just shoot the ****ing ball around in the garden or something. It’s outstanding how good he is.”

“In 2016 he has made the next step for sure. He has been very consistent. I think our style of play fits really well with him.”

“When we spoke about it, I told him that he could help us more and we could help him more when we do very simple passing to create better situations and have the opportunity to finish in different kind of ways. That’s given us a real boost in terms of development.”

“It took a little bit of responsibility off his shoulders so he could play more freely of expectations and pressures. All that stuff. He’s made a big, big step.”

These Klopp quotes just get better.

The only downfall about Coutinho’s incredible form is just how difficult it could be to keep him at the club in the future. He has moulded into a player capable of dictating games and making a significant difference on his own which spells danger in terms of him reaching a level that promises to interest the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Reaction to his injury layoff has recognised just how important Reds fans deem him to be to this team and the wait for his return only reinforces this.

We cannot wait to see him back on the pitch.
