Exciting news for Reds as Liverpool reportedly eye up a move for Arsenal star

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arsenal

The ongoing transfer rumours over the past few months means it now looks inevitable that Liverpool will look to do some business in the upcoming January window.

Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the latest name believed to be a target for Jurgen Klopp with Sky Sports sources suggesting the Reds will make a bid for the England international next month.

The 23-year-old joins a long list of players that have been linked to a move to Anfield with Klopp intent on finding a replacement for forward Sadio Mane who is set to depart for the African Cup of Nations in the New Year.

Chamberlain signed for the Gunners from Southampton in 2011 but has seen his time with the London club hampered by numerous injuries that have prevented him from building any real momentum. He has, however, scored six goals in 23 appearances this season.

A player with his talent has to be playing more regularly than he already is which is why the offer of more game time at a title challenging club could tempt him to make the trip up to Merseyside.

In terms of finding an adequate replacement for Mane, Chamberlain fits the bill. He has the pace and the power on the ball to maintain the different dimension that Mane offered us while he also shares the same tendency to drift into different positions and impact the play from all over the pitch.

We think it would be a great piece of business, if it were to happen.
